International Maritime Foundation of Marine Education was established in 2017 and is the unit of International Maritime Foundation Charitable Trust. It’s registered office is located at 401, 408 Fourth Floor Ellora Fiesta , Sector-11 Juinagar(W), Navi Mumbai.-400705. International Maritime Foundation of Marine Education has been certified by JAS-ANZ quality evaluations for their QMS.
Efficient transport by sea is an important mode of transportation, particularly for a country like India with an outlet to the sea. Indian Merchant Navy comprises of Passenger Ships, Cargo Liners, Tankers, Ore-Carriers and other types of specialised ships. These Ships are operated by public and private sector shipping companies and are manned by trained Marine Engineers, Navigators and Crew.
Ship include the largest and most complex man made structure on the planet.They opearte in the wide range of harsh enviroments and they carry 90% of the world trade even small ships hava a complex structure and many system for navigation,Propulsion and machinery,cargo handling and crew support.
Various International Conventions have adopted resolutions to the effect that seafarers manning the merchant vessels must be fully trained for the challenges that this job at sea requires. In order to meet this challenge, International Maritime Foundation of Marine Education (IMFME), Navi Mumbai, has been established.
